Ed Hardman
HR Consultant
Ed is an HR consultant with more than 15 years in senior leadership within complex, fast paced organisations. This experience gives Ed a highly practical understanding of the pressures leaders face, and the importance of balancing business performance with a fair and consistent people approach.
Ed began his career in the optical industry, qualifying as an optician before moving into learning and development. In this capacity, he worked internationally with HR teams to embed strong onboarding and capability building processes, helping organisations create consistent employee experiences and faster routes to competence.
Ed works with organisations to strengthen their people approach at both operational and strategic levels. He supports leaders to build management capability, improve engagement, and embed clear, consistent ways of working that help teams perform at their best. His work often focuses on culture, accountability, communication, and translating organisational goals into practical people plans that managers can deliver day to day.
He also provides advice on core people matters where needed, ensuring decisions are fair, proportionate and aligned with current UK employment legislation. Ed has particular experience supporting leaders with absence and performance management, and guiding teams through change in a way that is structured, well communicated and sustainable.
Ed is currently studying towards the CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management, bringing an evidence informed perspective to workforce strategy, organisational development and culture. He enjoys helping organisations move beyond “quick fixes” by building stronger foundations: clear expectations, capable managers, effective feedback and a culture that supports both wellbeing and performance.
Ed’s style is calm, relationship led and solutions focused. He takes time to understand each client’s context, pressures and priorities, and works in partnership to deliver practical support that is aligned to long term outcomes.
