marketplace amp Ltd is the UK’s only FMCG grocery aisle marketplace specialists helping their client’s customers find, love and buy their products on the world’s marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, Ocado & Supermarket e-commerce.). The business was founded by husband and wife duo Matt and Aime Anderson.
Born out of a passion for retail and data, marketplace amp helps grocery businesses truly understand and reach their audience.
The Cambridge based business had experienced rapid growth in a few short years prior to reaching out to MAD-HR.
The core team had grown by some 50% and like the majority of SME structures, HR was falling to the directors.
The case for support
Aime and Matt recognised that a more standardised approach was very much needed.
They wanted to ensure that not only did they have a comprehensive way of delivering their HR function, but that it was compliant and structured in a way which would evolve with the growth of the business.
Given that employment law is forever changing, and compliance is crucial, Aime discussed with Carole that she felt it was now imperative that marketplace amp could access the right expert advice at all times.
It was agreed that a mix of online support and face to face would be preferable.

It was agreed that rather than recruit their own HR resource, support from a consultancy service would best suit the needs of marketplace amp.
The team were keen to have access to the online HR toolkit, in particular, because of their rapidly changing situation, and their global customer base creating multiple challenges and the need for very up to date legal information all at the touch of a button.
MAD-HR assisted in the recruitment process for the next phase of the company’s growth, supporting the team through interviews, vetting applicants and leading on psychometric testing.
Day to day, the MAD-HR team are at the end of a phone or video conference to assist Aime and Matt when needed.
